CompliSure
Watches the rain at every industrial site and alerts the team the moment a storm qualifies, so nobody misses California's 4-hour sampling window.

weather models per forecast; the worst case decides
California's industrial stormwater permit says that when a qualifying storm makes a site discharge, the facility has four hours to collect a sample. Miss it and that's a violation. CompliSure watches the weather for every facility, decides when a storm qualifies, and tells the right people in time.
The problem
Consultants who manage dozens of facilities check forecasts by hand, site by site, through a browser. Nothing tells them which site just crossed the rain threshold, and a missed sample is a permit violation.
What I built
A daily engine reads hourly rain at each facility's exact coordinates, classifies every hour, and fires an alert when a run of rain qualifies. Scheduled reports go out under the consultant's own brand, and every forecast is stored so the record holds up later.
Where it stands
My part · Designed it, built it end to end, and run it daily in pilot.
- Status
- Live, running daily in pilot
- Reporting
- 9 hours a week of manual reports replaced by a daily run, no keystrokes
Origin · I trained as a field geologist: site monitoring and reporting to a regulatory standard. CompliSure is that work, automated by someone who did it by hand.
What it does
- 01Daily 6 a.m. check of every facility at its own coordinates
- 02Hour-by-hour classification: no rain, light shower, potential qualifying storm
- 03Instant alert to the facility and its consultant, with the 4-hour window spelled out
- 04Scheduled reports, white-labelled with the consultant's logo, exportable as PDF
- 05Rain history calendar: observed against forecast, every alert and report on record
- 06Sample tracker across the reporting year
- 07Full English and Spanish across the product
Safety and trust
What protects the people who use it and the data inside it.
- Email and password sign-in; nobody sees a facility they don't own
- Row-level security on rain history and records in Postgres
- Secrets stay server-side in edge functions, never in the browser
- Report links resolve to time-limited signed URLs
- Every alert, sample and lab step is logged as a compliance trail
- Forecasts are locked at run time: each report shows what was known when it went out
